The New Kissaki Sole

A defining feature of the PI-402 is the introduction of the new KISSAKI SOLE—an advanced camber sole engineered to balance effective bounce throughout the swing. With a maximum sole width of 22mm, it accommodates a wide range of swing paths and attack angles while improving forgiveness on off-center strikes. Inspired by “Kissaki” (切っ先)—the precision tip of a Japanese sword—the sole geometry is designed to optimize turf interaction, allowing the club to glide smoothly through impact for players of all swing types.

Tungsten Weight

To further enhance performance, the PI-402 incorporates 35 grams of tungsten positioned low behind the impact zone. This strategic placement helps promote effortless launch while improving stability through impact. The added mass low in the head increases forgiveness and helps maintain ball speed across a wider portion of the face, delivering distance with remarkable consistency.

Face Technology

At the core of the PI-402 is a resilient 3mm Chromoly steel face that has been hot-rolled to maximize elasticity. This advanced construction helps produce consistent ball speeds across the entire face, giving players reliable distance even when contact isn’t perfectly centered.
